What the kids miss…



paved roads everywhere

basketball team

basketball practice

access to television whenever they want

texting on her cell phone

wearing hoodies

wearing boots and Uggs (Maggie)

a microwave

Things that have filled the void:

new friends-both kids

outdoor recess 2 x a day-Simon

learning soccer-Simon

swimming-both kids

learning a new language

Skype and Facetime

our dogs

Student Council officer-Maggie

next door neighbor-Simon

eyes open in a new way-both kids

volunteering at Pouponniere (orphanage)

eating at home

having more time together to hang-out

Kristine has been in education since 1993. She taught fourth grade in Ohio from 1993 - 2008. She has been a Curriculum Coordinator for four years. She is relocating to Dakar, Senegal to be the Director of Curriculum for the International School of Dakar in August 2012.
